Hi everybody,

Jax, our little 10 lb. firebrand, is a bubbly chihuahua/min-pin mix who is also surprisingly intelligent, has a sense of humor, and has a very affectionate disposition towards humans. When we found him at the Pasadena Humane Society, he was such a lover-boy! He was even friendly towards our chihuahua, Chaka, who came along with us to the adoption.

When we brought him home, he was a bit nervous, and understandably so. We tried to make him feel as comfortable as possible, but he still showed signs of anxiety. He started to stalk and bark viciously through the fence towards the neighbors much larger dog. He barked uncontrollably at all dogs he saw through the window. Once agitated, he would displace his aggression towards Chaka, and at times, even towards us. To make life at home worse, he would tinkle here and there throughout the house even though we had successfully potty trained him. The final straw occurred when he lifted his leg and tinkled on mommy's foot! The horror! We decided to call Tricia Casper!

Tricia has a firm grasp of animal behavior, and that is apparent as soon as she meets her students. Jax respected her instantly, and behaved like a good boy around her. This was reassuring to us, as this meant that our puppy was not the little demon that we feared he was; It all had to do with us.

Tricia evaluated our current situation and educated us as to what was happening within our "pack". She observed that Jax was challenging us for dominance, which is why he would piddle everywhere, even on us. Once she taught us how to structure our relationship with him, order was soon established.

Through Tricia, we learned how to properly crate-train, walk and play with Jax. We also learned  to impose restrictions that reinforced our place as "leaders" to him. Jax now knows his proper place here at home, and we're all happier for it. He'll never be a perfect angel, but he is now far more behaved than when we first brought him home from the rescue shelter. Thank you Tricia!

Hi!  My name’s Spencer.  I’m a yellow lab and I just turned two.  Whew, I’m getting old.  My Dad adopted me when I was almost one and a half.  Until then I was living with my Dog Mom in the backyard.  I hadn’t been anywhere back then.  When my dad lifted me into his car and drove me to my new home I was terrified.  I thought I had been shot out of a cannon!  Forget about ever getting back into that contraption!  Not me!!  My new neighborhood was pretty scary, too.  On walks, I’d slink down the street with my tail tucked so tight… you’d have thought that I had just busted out of the pound and was on the run.  I didn’t like meeting people, either.  Dad’s friends all wanted to say hello to me but I would run and hide.  Sometimes, though, I’d just growl at them.  That’s when I met Tricia.  I growled at her, too.  But Tricia was SO brave and SO nice that before I knew it we were the best of buddies.  Dad and me had a lot of sessions with Tricia; I can’t count that high!  Every week Dad would get our homework assignment and then we would both work so hard.  And Tricia was always there to help me.  Well, today I’m a new dog and my life is wonderful!  Taking walks is my most favorite thing in the whole wide world!  I even have a girlfriend I meet on my walks named Mona; she’s part lab, too.  And meeting people – I’ve met all of Dad’s friends now and Tricia’s friends from Big Sky Dogs, too.  Dad says I’ve become a regular “social butterfly.”  I don’t know what that means, but it must be good from the way he says it to me.  And, Dad and me even go for rides in the car now.  Can you believe it?  Boy, it’s a big world out there!  Dad says he’ll take me to see the ocean one day.  I’m not too sure about that though.  Dad and me once saw Jaws and that black lab went into the ocean… well, I didn’t see him for the rest of the movie!!!  So, I guess you know from this that I think Tricia is GREAT.  Now when Dad and me are out walking, people sometimes stop us to tell us what a good dog I am and how they wish their dog was as well-behaved!  When I look up at Dad I can see how proud he is of me, and I just know we’re both thinking the same thing – THANKS TRICIA!

Our experience with Tricia Casper was all good! My dog, Bella, needed to brush up on her manners and I didn’t know how to help her. Rescue arrived in the form of Tricia.  Bella and I loved and respected her instantly due to her professional approach and her calm and assertive demeanor. Bella got the idea right away that Tricia was the Pack Leader during our sessions which was a powerful example for me. I loved how she took the time to “read” Bella and to observe our interactions, from which she prescribed a course of action perfect for our needs. As a result, I feel more empowered as Bella’s leader and Bella is more secure and better behaved. Tricia has given me tools to maintain the life-long learning that is necessary with a dog. I could not recommend her more enthusiastically.

Madison joined my dog pack, Jett and Ginger, at 3 months.  Though she was the newcomer and a puppy, she was causing chaos and bringing stress to me, my roommates and the other dogs.  She showed signs of aggression and would growl and lunge at people and dogs during our walks.  When Tricia came for the assessment, she immediately determined Madison was a dog with a hard temperament.  I was empowering her by allowing her puppy “privileges” and not realizing she had no boundaries.  A new regiment was set to show her she wasn’t the boss.  Even before the first session, my roommates and I noticed a change in Madison.  During our sessions, I realized I had not trained Madison as well as I thought I did.   Through Tricia’s example, I started to train Madison correct dog etiquette and tough love.  Calm has been restored and Jett and Ginger love their little sibling even more!  Tricia knows what she’s doing!

Makana, a lilac SharPei has been such a joy and blessing to our home. However, she is an alpha dog and very aggressive. She would get into fights with Rugby the bulldog over her toys, food and bones. Through Tricia's help we have been able to control her aggressiveness. She no longer fights when her food is served and now shares her bones and toys with Rugby. Just one visit with Tricia has made Makana a happier dog. We are able to enjoy her much more.  Thanks Tricia from the bottom of our hearts.

My husband, Samba and I are really blessed to have found Tricia!  She came to us on the date we got our puppy to help puppy proof our house and she has been training Samba ever since.  Her training techniques work and she really understands and loves dogs.  She is very friendly, helpful and calm, and you can tell that she cares about your pet.  She also helps us by watching samba while I am at work. It is hard for us to trust someone to take care of our baby dog, so she comes over and takes Samba for walks or to play in the park.  She is always willing to talk to you if you need help and she always responds to emails or calls right away.  If you want a dog trainer that has experience, uses force-free methods, cares about your dog and enjoys what she does, call Tricia and you won't regret it!

Stella and I just finished a 4 week training program with Tricia Casper.  It has made a very positive difference in Stella and her behavior (and mine as well :).  I appreciate Big Sky Dog's recommendation!  I would highly recommend Tricia to anyone looking for one-on-one training.
